Roger Stone, President Trump’s former campaign advisor, on Friday admitted to having private conversations with a hacker who helped leak information from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) during last year’s campaign.
Stone insisted to The Washington Times that the conversations were “completely innocuous.”
“It was so perfunctory, brief and banal I had forgotten it,” Stone told The Times of a private Twitter conversation he had with a hacker known as “Guccifer 2.0.”
Reps. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), chairman and ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, sent a letter to White House counsel Don McGahn on Wednesday expressing concerns about the Trump administration’s record keeping habits and its nontransparent use of social media and other forms of electronic communication.
The majority of Americans want Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign and believe he lied under oath about his meetings with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, a Quinniapac poll published Wednesday found.
Fifty-two percent want Sessions to resign, the poll discovered, and 51 percent believe Sessions committed perjury during his Congressional hearing for the position of U.S. attorney general.
